# 4. Problem Statement 🚫

The current sustainable finance market in the MENA region faces four major hurdles:

1. **Retail Exclusion:** Sustainable investment products in the UAE are institution-focused; **individuals lack access**.
2. **Greenwashing & Opaqueness:** Most ESG funds offer little transparency or **measurable proof** of environmental performance.
3. **Data Fragmentation:** No unified source of **verified sustainability data** in the MENA region.
4. **Verification Complexity:** ESG and MRV compliance are **data-heavy and difficult to interpret** for everyday investors.
